How Does Well Water Effect Hair?

Most wells do not get their water from underground rivers, but instead get the water from aquifers. Aquifers are layers of rock and soil with water flowing through their small pores. For the most part, there are not giant caves under earth's surface containing violent rivers of water flowing quickly through them. How can I protect my hair from well water?
