A Love Hate Relationship With Your Hair
A ton of women have a on going struggle with their hair. Either they love it, or they hate it. Even sometimes both. Many women when asked can answer with they like this…or dislike in the same breath. A good example is I love my curl, but I HATE THE MAINTENANCE.
Here are the large points I noticed when discussing with clients. Women’s relationships with their hair are very personal and they can be quite vulnerable. They will share stories of struggle about how they have went through many changes. Their hair being one of them. Wether they have been through pregnancy or a medical issue. A woman will really tell you how she feels about her hair during a sudden change in texture or loss.
Most of my clients I have spoken with I have felt dont show signs of simple dislike. These feelings are more hatred or sadness in accordance to their hair. This needless to say makes me very sad.
So… as a stylist. What can I do?
I decided to educate. Starting with being blantently honest with my clients and the women and men around me. Clients may not always know what products to use and which to avoid. It may be as simple as changing up the way you cleanse and how often. This can be overwhelming for most people.
I can tell you as a stylist for over 16 years. I have always been able to “do Something” with my hair. I do have a soft spot more so now because of my MS. For me this is a sore subject, and the reason I created my line of hair products. A bad hairday can set me back for an entire day. However, a good hair day can make me soar! I want to feel great and hear more positive things behind the chair.
If you are struggling with hair loss and or just hating your hair in general. Let me help you. My honesty policy is critical but fair. I hope to see you soon.
