Do Saltwater Pools Hurt Your Hair?

With salt–water pools and naturally salty ocean water, you may be wondering if salt water is good for your hair and skin.

The nutrients present in salt water work well at breaking down your hair’s natural oils. So if you’ve got overly oily hair, salt water can help keep your hair’s oil levels balanced!

But if you don’t have overly oily hair how to you combat this oil stripping?

You might consider using a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Especially if you have chemically treated hair. I would suggest getting the hair wet before you take a dip! You could also place a SPF oil in before partaking! Dry hair can be like a sponge and absorb all the wrong things!

Skip the swim cap! Usually these are only needed for competition. Otherwise if you place the proper nutrient rich items such as CityGRL Amethyst Oil, you would replenish the hairs natural oils and prevent harmful things from penetrating the hair.

Always remember to wash post swim! With both moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.
